I've had so many 'blog posts' in my head the past few months i finally gave in and decided to start writing again.
In July, Davey started working at Troy University as their Project Manager in the facilities/maintenance department. He is in charge of budgeting, acquiring bids, and overseeing construction and landscape projects around the campus -- so for example, right now he is working on revamping the Football Stadium food venues, refinishing the Tennis courts, a new fancy shmancy dining hall, among other things... Troy is a nice University with a really pretty campus-- I'm excited to walk around it more when the weather cools down.I have been mostly focused on finding a house for us to buy... we are in a rental that is eating up our bank account so hopefully this will happen soon! We put an offer on a house this week and are in the midst of negotiation so we will maybe have some news about that in the near future... Also, i get to learn how to budget better, find more activities to keep Max busy during the day, clean the much-too-big rental home again and again, and work on a few projects in my not-really-spare-but -somehow-it works-out time. Oh and I helped with an wedding open house last week (couldn't resist!) .
Max is growing like a weed. He is a little boy through and through, although he is completely obsessed with anything snuggly and soft -- he has a snuggle shrine in his room containing approximately 3 puppies, 4 plush blankets, 1 small teddy bear, 4 pillows, and a very VERY large teddy bear. He recently discovered how to make a whimpering 'sad' noise and does this whenever he wants to snuggle in his shrine, or when he wants anything, really. He gives about a million hugs a day, and kisses galore on our cheeks, nose, legs, tummy, and sometimes a little too uh, lovingly on our lips (I think he watches Davey and I too much...) He also is very good at making car noises, growling, saying "mommy mommy mommy", daddy, puppy, baby, nana, and pee. Ha. We have a small helicopter airport nearby and Max always runs to the window to see them fly over head.
We look forward to seeing Davey at lunch everyday and getting the mail together, which usually turns into a walk around the neighborhood on the not-so-hot days.
There's a brief update, I'll try to post more each day this week to fill you in on everything a little better!

Woot. Max is so cute. Your rental is taking all the loot?
I didn't mean to rhyme with the first 2. Hope you get into your dream home soon!
